US Stock of the Day – Oct 2, 2026: Tesla <TSLA>
Friday, October 2, 2026
On October 2, 2026, the most talked-about US stock online is Tesla<TSLA>.
Background: On October 2, the company announced that it delivered 486,532 vehicles in the July-September quarter of 2026. Although that was down 2.1% from 497,099 a year earlier, it beat the company-compiled consensus of 461,974 by 24,558 vehicles, or about 5.3%. The Model 3 and Model Y accounted for 478,237 of the deliveries, and energy storage deployments came to 13.7 GWh. The figures were seen as a sign that demand remains solid even after the U.S. tax credit for electric vehicles expired in September 2025, and the shares closed up 4.65% at $370.59. That day, a weaker-than-expected U.S. jobs report for September dampened expectations of an October rate hike, lifting tech stocks, and the Nasdaq Composite rose 1.23%. The company plans to report its July-September results after the market closes on October 21.
