Friday, October 16, 2026
On October 16, 2026, the most talked-about US stock online is Tesla<TSLA>.
Background: On the night of October 15 (U.S. time), Tesla unveiled its second-generation Roadster sports car in Waco, Texas. At the event, the car used SpaceX-developed thrusters to leap over other Tesla vehicles, and the company calls it the world's first flying car. It accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in under 0.59 seconds and comes in three trims. It does not include Tesla's self-driving system, and CEO Elon Musk said it will be the last Tesla built to be driven by a human. Pricing and the start of production have not been clearly announced. Since reservations opened in 2017, the Roadster has repeatedly missed delivery targets. In response, the shares rose nearly 5% in premarket trading on October 16.
