WuXi AppTec<603259> (A-shares and H-shares) was the Chinese stock most talked about online on August 10, 2026.
Background: A voluntary disclosure released on the evening of August 9, 2026, revealed that the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia had, on August 7, 2026 (U.S. time), approved WuXi AppTec's motion for a preliminary injunction. The company had been placed on the U.S. Department of Defense's "1260H" list of alleged Chinese military-linked companies on June 8, 2026, filed suit on June 11, and sought the preliminary injunction on June 29. Under the ruling, the Department of Defense is barred from enforcing or applying the 1260H designation while the litigation challenging it proceeds. Both A-shares and H-shares opened up more than 3%, and the broader CXO (contract research, development and manufacturing organization) sector rallied sharply the same day, with Nearshore Protein up as much as 20% intraday and Yiqiao Shenzhou and BioCytogen up more than 10%, lifting the sector as a whole. The company had also reported record-high revenue and net profit for the first half of 2026 in results released August 7, and the combination of improving fundamentals and the favorable court ruling drove heavy discussion online.
